October 2003 CHECKPOINTS

Goal 1. The Chapter is working with the National Space Science and Technology Institute in Colorado Springs to develop a facility that explains military space operations to area visitors. USAFA contributions could be featured.

Goal 2. The Chapter web site contains significant information regarding developments at USAFA and in the AF regarding space activities. Recent reports include summaries of cadet space-related activities and a review of the Academy's AFOSR Space Systems Research Center.

Goal 3. No local community for the Chapter, per se, but many Chapter members are active in their local communities. For example, George Stetz '65 is very active in the Vandenberg AFB area.

Goal 4. The Chat Room and Message Board on the Chapter web site offer significant networking opportunities. Members and others use these areas to discuss topics of professional interest.

Goal 5. No reportable activity this period.

Goal 6. The Chapter supports the larger space professional community, including activities such as providing book reviews for professional journals.

Goal 7. The Chapter is supporting the newly formed USAFA Space Working Group, which is chartered to review and coordinate all USAFA space education and training activities.

Goal 8. No reportable activity this period.

Goal 9. We continue to work with the Cadet National Space Society Club to strengthen programs and activities.
